Can we take the streets? Because there's a horrible crash.
Standing on the highway, a girl and her dad.
You say yea, it's far too much for me,
far too fast of scenery but your voice,
and your lips are moving words that I cannot breach the noise.
Just remember always move fast.
We know you, we own you.
Go home and leave me at the door or we can stay outside of your house
and just wait for the morning.
I heard you can't stay too long the morning's got you worried.
Because the sun holds a sea of troubles and an early drive away.
So I guess I'll just stay for a while I guess you knew just from how I smiled.
Because there's no hurry more like fucking nursery or a beautiful trail.
Just remember always move fast.
We know you, we own you.
Go home and leave me at the door or we can stay outside of your house
and just wait for the morning.
I've seen your sadness grow.
and it swallows these days until it hurts to breathe.
She whispers, thanks for your time tonight,
but you are not awake yet you are not awake I swear.
She screams, it's all been in your dream with nothing tangible.
The girl, this house, the highway, your mind made it real.
Just remember always move fast

Merely A Roleplay Thread Dedicated To The Wammy Kids, K included.
Of course K has already worked closely with L a few times, for her job is not to succeed him, the way the others is.

A plot is in the works, but for now...
we shall fly by the seam of our pants and do what we need to do...

A fun loving thread, where all things are possible.

A thread where its players
were born on a different cloud.

PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeMon Mar 30, 2009 10:43 am

She was trapped. There was no other way to word what the eighteen year old girl was feeling at the moment. It was as if she was an exotic bird, bagged and thrown into a cage, with bas inpossible to claw out of. Iron. They way iron bars were holding criminals hostage in their bird cage. Iron. The way the type of metal was believed to hold in evil spirits. Prehaps this heaviness she felt was iron. Her name was K. Well...thats what people knew her as. She like, every other child in the Wammy house, was an orphan, though her story differed. Her parents had abandoned her. She had just woke up one morning, and they were gone. Her mother and Father had packed everything they owned, including K's belonging and left in the quiet of the night. She had been alone since she was seven.

She had been, what the elders called 'trash.' She lived on the streets, doing anything and everything she needed to survive. Two years prior, she had become pregnant, by a man on the streets, who she thought she loved. Obviously, that was not the case. She had been sitting on the hood of a car, six months pregnant, just pondering what she was supposed to do with her life, when a man pulled her from the hood of the car and kidnapped her. She was confined for three months before she was let loose into the fresh air of the world. She had been beaten, and worse for three months straight. Her baby obviously lost.

That was when her facination with law and L had come into play.He was the lead investigator on her case. She owed him her life. She was a smart girl, and L had begun to teach her what he knew. They developed a close bond, but now...she was at Wammy house, and she hated him for putting her here.

SHe didn't belong with people like this. People who were so...incredibly, yet awkwardly, brilliant. K had once been a child prodigy. Once thought to be autistic in her early years, as she grew she excelled in everything. SHe had skipped mulitple grades when she was in school and was always the top of her class. ALways on top. She studied the violin day and night, and by the age of six, she could play with the best of the British Orchestra. But no longer. She felt utterly out of place among these children. She hated them secretly. If their main objective in life was to succeed L, then that must mean that they were groomed to sit around, and merely wait for him to die. This did not sit well with her.

It was snowing outside. Snowflakes danced from the sky, twirling pretty pirouettes as they landed on the soft blanket that the all ready fallen dancers had laid out for them. Despite the heaters gentle prick of warmth, the bay window that she sat closest to, was freezing. It seemed to suck the body heat right out of her, leaving the girl frigid. A black fleece throw blanket was draped over her shoudlers, although it offered her no comfort.

K was a tall girl for her age, five foot seven, and was said to grow atleast another two inches. SHe hated her height. She was a pretty girl, but awkward. She weighed no more then 110 pounds. She was lucky that despite her skinny physique, she was blessed with womanly curves and a figure to die for. Not that that mattered to her at all. She had golden blonde hair (that was dyed away from her natural hair coloure which was dark red) that hung in choppy layers, about four inches passed her shoulders, choppy side-swept bangs kissed her forehead. Her eyes were a haunting coloure of jade. She had been mistaken for being blind, thanks to their light tint. SHe had a spray of freckles that dusted across her nose and the plums of her cheek bones. Dimples also dug into her cheeks whenever she smiled or she thought hard.

Today she had decided to wear a pair of dark blue denim jeans, that fitted her perfectly. A few holes cursed the knees, and since the jeans were old, they were worn in certain areas, showing the intricate threading under neath the dark blue front. A simple, black leather belt tucked into the beltloops. SHe wore a short sleeved, black t-shirt, a small black pocket abover her left breast. It fit her curved like a glove. Her feet were bare, and her toes felt as if they had been snapped with frost bite. Still she did not move from HER spot in the window.

In her hands, was a copy of the book 'FLowers For Algernon.' It was her favourite. The smell of the book always made her excited, the mildewed pages always brought her to life. She was half way done by now. It was a sad story, but an honest one.

PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeTue Mar 31, 2009 6:34 am

Mello fished out another one of the thousands of chocolate bars he stashed under his bed. Normally he wouldn't hide them in such an obvious place, but scinse he had come to live in Wammy House very few people have been brave enough to dare such a feat. Those few exceptions to this rule were, the every annoying and cocky Near who saw fit to beat him at every turn. The asshole. And Matt, though on those very few accations he actually took a bar he simply vanished into thin air. those wre the only two people who could get away with such a thing and not pay in physical punishment.

Matt was technicly the only friend Mello had in this damned place. The gamer always seemed to be there whenever Mello was in trouble, usually becuase he helped lend a hand in the prank, but being there for the punishment with Mello was enough to grant him some status. Not to mention no matter how angry he become, or what he did during his time of fury, sometimes hitting Matt by mistake, he never left him alone.

Tearing open his most prized possetion he carefully tore into one of it's edges moving the delicate sweet in his mouth. While chewing on the piece in his mouth he reached down with his free hand to striaghten out his gothic style clothing. He tended to like clothes that stuck to him like a second skin, they made him feel comfortable and helped to send a warning to those in this place not to bug him. After striaghtning the annoying fabric he risked a glance at the clock and window behind it.

Damn it was allready past time to go to class but he didn't feel much like going today. The cold sheet of snow that had fallen seemed to make the matter worse. His tight clothing was hard to move in when it became cold so he decided to stay here. Yes, he was one of the few chossen to suceed the mighty L after he dies, but that didn't mean Mello was going to follow the rules. He was extremly intelligant and was put here for a reason and he desperatly wanted to best Near in this, wanted to see the basterd's face as he, Mello, replaced L. Even with so many classes mist he was nearly to the top of the list in the school. So another day wouldn't hurt him at all.

Gamer, starin at that TV set play that, let me see that genesis

Matt growled outloud, eyes narrowed into terrifying slits of gray-green fury. Today, or rather this morning, had sucked balls. And not in the good way. Whilst getting out of bed this morning, he had slipped on the bunk bed ladder rung and tumbled to his untimely pain. Then, as he was running to the bathroom, he was nearly scared shitless. He had watched a horror film fest last night, woke up late, missed Mello, skipped his entire first class, and now jumped at every small noise. He also feared, as he got into the warm shower, that small rape hands would jump out intent on stealing his man-babies. It could happen. And then, to top it all off, as he was running (because he swore he heard a scuffle, and you can never be too careful) to the bedroom, he stubbed three of five toes on a dresser.

He limped out of his room, backpack slung over his shoulder, hair still nearly sopping wet from his (eventful) shower. He yawned widely, as the adrenaline from before petered out into nothing. He suddenly felt exhausted all over again. Black and red braces gleamed in the dim light of Wammy's hallways, and Matt narrowed his eyes even more if that were possible. His teeth really weren't all that jacked up. Just jacked up enough to have braces for six months, and a retainer for the other six. Now, instead of smiling brightly whenever he saw another game he hadn't beaten the pants off, or even seeing Mello as he sauntered through the hallways, he only grinned meekly. It annoyed him at first, not being able to smile as big. But soon, he made his half grin fit his face perfectly, and he wasn't so unfond of it anymore.

COME PLAY WITH ME.
COME PLAY WITH ME

Speaking of Mello and games, he got out his trusty GameBoy (which he had fittingly named Mario) and turned sharply on his scuffed shoe, banking and heading backwards to his best friends room. He squeezed inside, not even taking the precaution of knocking. It wasn't like Mello did anything else besides devour cocoa and study like tomorrow would never come. And he was right. As he walked in. Mello was sitting on his bed fidgeting with his clothes, dark chocolate in his hand. Matt personally hated the cocoa bean product. It was bitter, unappetizing, and made him squirm from just looking at it. White chocolate was worse, but he wouldn't even dare get into that.

"Hey, Mells!" He chirped cheerfully, words slightly strung together and slurred. He still hadn't gotten used to having strings of metal glued to his teeth. With a self-conscious sigh, he ran a pink tongue over them, feeling how the scraped against the soft inside of his mouth, hurting him with every word. "I'm surprised you aren't in class. Skipping again?" Matt grinned and took a seat next to his best friend, fixing his goggle covered eyes on the small blond youth. "It's kinda freezing, huh? You should prolly put on more clothes than that." He mumbled accusingly, smirking a bit as he pointed at the flimsy dark cloth. "I'm staying here, too. Class is tripping balls." He stated matter-of-factly, vocabulary matching that of a fourteen year old.

Gamer, starin at that TV set. Break that, I wanna your N.E.S.

In the prosses of licking his delicate special treet, he barly noticed the footsteps coming up to his room. So when the door finally opened he was cuaght unaware and became angry in the process, asuming imediantly it was another teacher trying to fetch him to go to class. raising his head sneering, he was prepared to bolt out the door or just plain punch whoever it was. Damn teachers! he hissed.

Matt? he considered the boy for a moment before relaxing back into his previous activity, consuming the rest of the bar before shoving Matt gently with the edge of his boot. Making his hands retreat behind his head. "hey Matt. yeah pretty much. there's no piont in going if i'm at the top allready. Actually he was just below Near but refused to admit it. "Really now? did someone mess with you?" That was another taboo in his book. Nobody messed with his friends at all.

Considering all those who might hurt Matt he quickly ran over a list of all students in the school. Speaking of that. "Is everyone still in class. k, near and the others. Che I guess they are stupid to figure out they don't have to go." I wonder were they all are.

PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeTue Mar 31, 2009 9:49 am

Matt was poked in the side by Mello's boot, and he jumped about four feet. The rape hands could be coming back at any time. He was skittish of everything, and Mello had the ability to make mortifying fun of anyone. Even Matt. He also noticed how he almost got his eye blackened as he entered without knocking. He made a shaky mental note to not do that anytime soon. It was a while before he noticed Mello was talking. With a blank stare, he looked at Mello before replying with a loud 'Oh!' of comprehension.

"Well, the point would be to make sure you do stay on top." He argued gently, smiling a bit and accidentally showing his damn braces. With a large huff/sigh, he clamped his lips shut, wincing as the soft skin of his inner lips scraped across the metal. God, it hurt. He knew Near was above Mello. Who didn't? But he also knew to never correct the blond on such matters. With a knowing glance, Matt shrugged. "Not anymore than usual. I mean, the whole "learning" thing is retarded." He grumbled, saving his game and crossing his legs, staring at the relaxed blond.

Matt got teased a lot, he would say. Being bisexual and a guy put him at a lot of risk for such things. Also, Wammy's was a christian based school. Christians believed anyone other than straight went to hell. Sucks for him. "Everyone is in class, Mello. Trying to beat you out of your place. Don't get so cocky." He smirked, poking light fun at the blond.

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeTue Mar 31, 2009 9:56 pm

Soft foot steps sang a song of pitter patter as people would move from class to class, passing by her as if she wasnt even there. Everyone had become accostomed to her presence as being 'She who knew L' and she was accostomed to them being 'they who wait for L to die.' She owned a love hate relationship with the peoplpe in Wammy's House.

Well, that wasn't entirely true. She was fond of a boy named Matt. An awkward boy. The boy with only one real friend. Mello. She liked Mello as well. Not that she had ever actually spoken to either of them. She hadn't said a word to anyone there, except for Roger, but only because she had no real choice in the matter. Her free will seemed to be ripped away from her when L put her in this place.

Finally, the incesant chatter had ceased and there were no more footprints. She could enjoy her book. Her jade green eyes scanned the wors as if they were barcodes to something that she wanted desperately. Her pink tongue crawled from between the plumpness of her candy coloured lips, and she licked the very tip of her index finger. Her nimble fingers turned the pages eagerly. It was at the most intense part of her book, where Charlie had found out that the procedue he had gone to make his a genius was reversing.

It was plainly, heart wrenching.

Her face crinkled in an aggiated expression. Why could she hear feet running around? Who was skipping class? It didn;t really matter to her, except for the fact that she was highly seceptable to all small noised. She was a sensitvive. Just as she thought there would be no more distracting noises she began to read, cautiously for good reason. For not but three seconds later she heard it again, voices accompanied.

"You know..." she said loudly...

This was the first time she had opened her mouth since she had been here. Her voice was low toned yet feminine, monotonous yet broken.

"..I am TRYING to read...."

She wondered if anyone had heard her, probbaly not. And if they had they proably wouldn't pay much attention. Who would pay attention to the loner sitting in the window.

She glanced up, pushing her blonde hair back behind her ear, as she examined the cieling above her head, the floor boards were squeaking. It sounded like whoever it was were in Mello's room. Mello and Matt prehaps? It would oly make sense. She stuck her bottom lip out, her teeth sinking into it painlessly.

Had they heard her?

PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeWed Apr 01, 2009 6:15 am

Rising up on his elbows to glare at Matt he nudded him agian. this time managing to get his foot under the game. were he quickly brought his foot back towrds his body grabbing the game with his hand. "I'm not cocky." he scorned, luaghter dancing in his eyes. "it is simply a matter of studying the others to know none of those dumb basterds are going to beat me." Carefully holding the game in his hand he sat up completly swinging his legs over the side of the bed. Reaching towrds Matt he redepossited the game back into his lap. "you got that fucking right Matt, learning is...retarded if you know all the materials allready. Matt, really you have to tell me when they bother you, and quick picking at your braces you look cool with them on." Thank god he didn't bring up Near, that stupid fucker.

Darkening, the lines around his eyes, his face scrunched in disgust at the thought of his arch rival. Ha, he was winning one thing with the Albino. he had a real friend. Starting to relax agian, still standing near the bed, he was caught off guard by the sound of someone on the other side of the wall. His face darkened agian. Bringing his foot around he slammed his heel into the wall were he calculated the vioce to be. "Shut the Hell up and mind your own bissiness! I don't give a shit who you think you are girlie!" He had God damn he hated people spying on him, not to mention for some reason Matt was allready agitated and jumpy. Someone suddenly yelling at them on the other side of the wall wasn't going to help him. Holding his foot agianst the wall still he turned back to Matt. "What's up with you today anyway? you're acting really jumpy." Yup he had anger issues, and liked to say what was on his min dright as he thought of it. That getting him into trouble more than just once so far.

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeWed Apr 01, 2009 8:09 am

Matt cried out as his game was jerked from his hands, glaring at Mello and huffing, arms coming to cross over his chest. "Not cocky? Then what the hell was that? Not showing off? Sure." He shot back, smirking a bit. Mello was such a show-off. It was almost endearing, had it not been annoying beyond compare. Matt learned to deal though. He smiled happily, picking the game up again and holding it to his chest, sticking a pink tongue out at Mello. Suddenly, Matt stiffened and sighed. Again with this "Tell me, Matt" business. Matt hated doing that, It made him feel weak and useless. Mello scolded him enough as it is, he didn't want to be more of a useless waste of space. "I got it under control, Mells. " He replied tersely, hissing it between his teeth before blushing and covering his mouth. Crap. The braces. He looked cool with them? Yeah right.

Matt sighed and shook his head, slipping off the bed and getting on his knees. Quietly, he wrapped on the wall (or floor?) and shouted, "Sorry, m'am. Mello is just being a prick as usual. Ignore him. We'll be quieter." Getting off his knees, he bounced back to the bed and smiled in Mello's direction, covering his teeth before it melted into a frown. The frown of someone who just got caught red-handed. "I-I'm not jumpy. I just saw a marathon of scary movies last night. No biggie." He lied, shrugging noncommittally like he always did. IT was a wonder Mello even stayed around Matt. He was bi, paranoid of scary movies, blunt, plain, and liked to pick. The only redeeming quality about him, was that Matt was loyal beyond compare and let Mello be second (or first in his opinion). It really was strange the web of "friendship" each boy had woven. Sticky and tangled.

CLUNK!
Something had punded against the wall, giving her a sort of jumpy effect to her frigid disposition.
It had to have been Mello and Matt.
Only from observing these kids for the short time that she had been there, she knew that Mello was the most emotionally unstable. More violent then the rest. She had deduced that anyways, from her quiet reverie of judgement. TheShe voice of the other end of the clunk only affirmed her suspicions.
Her jade green eyes squinted in almost disgust the way he ha spoken.
Most people in Wammy's had an unspoken respect for her, because she knew the ALL MIGHTY L. Not that it mattered, but the blonde's sudden outburst had caught her off of her feet.
His comment spinning her in a world of agitated emptiheadedness.

SNAP!
The pages to her book shut quickly in her hands, a soft noise coming from the thin, must sheets of paper. She hadn't even marked her place.
"It isnt that..." she growled to Matt through the heavy duty construction of the wall. SHe knew that neither of them probably heard her, but it was the principle of explaining herself which caused her to speak at all.

With a small groan she pushed herself off of the window sill, the spot she had made her own, and began to walk to where the voices were. She had left the fleece throw blanket in a wadded heap half way on the window sill, the other half hanging it's limp body over the side and puddling onto the floor.

Her book was tucked safely under her arm as her bare feet made a faint echo of a noise that was only noise pollution. Not like the walk was a long one, but she wasn't exactly surer what she would say when she got there. She pushed a stray lock of honey blonde hair back behind her ear as she approached the door, bringing her small pale fist up to knock against the cherry wood door.

Mello turned and glared at Matt, hissing between his teeth, "What the Hell did you do that for. They can mind thier own..." he puassed letting his foot slide down to thump angrilly on the floor. So, someone was going after Matt? The fucker. If I catch wind of who it is the basterds going to get his good. Mello walked over to Matt grabbing him by the collar and lifting him up. "So, someone is going after you. Who is it Matt." No one, noe one hurt his only friend. "Who is after you Matt. And why the hell are they picking on you." He puassed understanding hitting his eyes. "Tell me who-"

a knock on thye door cut him off. He gave the door one of his famous death glares, hoping it would spontaneously combust into flames. Dropping Matt gently to the floor he headed over to the door. "Who the Hell is thier?" He siad walking over. I wish people would leave us the fuck alone. turning back he tried to lighten the mood with Matt, and keep himself from punching whoever was at the door. "Stop fidgeting with your braces. Like I siad you look good with them on...And Matt. I forbid you to watch any more horrer films at all." Grabbing the door he jerked the handle, not before grabbing a bar from his pocket, and the door swung open. Crunching into the dark chocolate he glared at the girl standing infront of him. "Well?" he asked impataintly.

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeFri Apr 03, 2009 4:31 am

"I was just being the polite one of the two." He smiled playfully, yelping as he was jerked forward, wincing back hard and hands flying up to cover his face. It wasn't like he actually thought Mello was going to hit him. Oh, no. It was jsut an instinct. He had more than normal children, because he wasn an orphan. Every smart orphan had outrageous reflexes. They had to survive. Sitting there like a lame duck was not going to help any of their problems. And Matt reflexes usually involved him jerking back, yelping and covering any exposed skin. Matt couldn't fight for his life, always loosing whatever play wrestle match anyone brought upon him. He would whimper and crawl away, nursing the most tiniest of bruise. Of course, Matt knew the special places to hit anyone. The nose, eyes, groins, stomach, side of the thighs. Matt wasn't stupid. He was just third.

"No one is after me, Mello!" He shouted lamely, his eyes screwed tight until Mello let him go and he just flopped backwards on the bed like a limp doll. Of course someone was after him. Who didn't have enemies? Matt just didn't want to get Mello involved. Having Number Two get in a fight for his pathetic friend wouldn't look good on his "L record" as Matt liked to call it. Sitting up stiffly, he fixed his goggles, forced himself not to bring a hand up to his mouth and slowly slunk behind Mello. He just sighed softly as Matt forbid him from horror movies. He would just have to make Mello watch them with him.

"Hey, You're K!" Matt chirped from behind the blond, smiling a bit at the pretty woman. Not much was known, except she was in the running for L (and very good at her job) and her name was K. And Matt had really only found this out by eavesdropping on Roger's conversations. Soft, silent, quiet K. Matt could get used to her. A new change of pace. A person he could talk to instead of listening all the time. A person who wouldn't rant about every wrong thing. "Nice to meet you, I'm Matt." He held out a pale hand, hoping he wouldn't be totally denied in front of Mello.

PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeFri Apr 03, 2009 6:11 am

As K heard the rustling and bustling inside the bowels of the room, she owndered if it was totally necessary for her to act blod today. And she soon regretted even opening her mouth to ask them to be quiet, and regretted even more sothat she had actually gotten up out of her cold little window nook. From what she could hear, her early deduction was correct. It was infact mello and Matt, the two bestfriends who seemed to cause all sorts of mischief in the Wammy house...Mello's fault by a long run.

Mello's voice shattered her thoughts of bravery and made her jump slightly. Who was there? She cocked her head to the side, her thin eyebrows narrowing at the smoothe wood of the door, as if she was glaring through it so he could see her. "Just open the door..." she groaned with a roll of the eyes. He was a childish one, she could tell that when she had first came here. He acted immature for one of being one of the best developed minds in Wammy.

The door swung open with an obnoxious force, K's artificially honey coloured hair was tugged by the wind that was create from the force of the door opening so rapidly. She stared at Mello, in silence for a moment. His attitude was what caused a strong presence, not exactly his body.

As she opened his mouth to say somethign to the effect of, 'Dont be rude, I only asked you to be a tad bit quieter,' she heard another voice. Matt. The red headed one she had found so awkwardly cute, following Mello around like alost puppy. Loyal to his best friend til the day he would die.

She nodded her head, with a gentle smile, her dimples pressing like thumbs into her cheeks. "And youre Matt..." she offered, giving him the same respect he had given her by calling her by name. She glanced at Mello, "and you are Mello," she added on. Her attention was wheeled back to Matt as he held a hand out infront of her.

Her book had started to slip from its hold under her arm and she reajusted it before grabbing Matt's hand with her petite skeletal structure of fingers and palm. "Its a pleasure as well. I hear great things about the two of you." She spoke to Matt, ignoring the fact that the blonde boy was even there.

Thats what happened when you were rude.
K ignored you.

"K." he siad blandly looking the girl over. He had heard about her and was one of the most excelled students hear along with Near, Matt, and himself. As much as he hated to admit it he couldn't deny the fact that she deserved some kind of respect. The anger in his eyes dulled slightly. Maybe this could be a good thing.

Mello's eye twitched as he was ignored. How dare-! But one look at Matt's face and he knew he would have to tolerate this...K. At least for now until she left. she really didn't seem cocky, which was one reason he didn't punch her right off, she just seemed to dislike being yelled at. Welcome to the club, he thought eyes narrowing.

Calming his vioce by taking another bite from the chocolate in his hand he waited till they had finished shaking hands to comment. "Well, what did you come up here for." He also had to give her pionts for guts, and getting Matt's attention. Stepping back away from the door so she would have access to the room. Well, at least she wasn't picking on matt.

Walking away from the door he sat on the bed watching the two of them, determind to discover if she was actually a threat or not.

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeFri Apr 03, 2009 7:01 am

Matt blushed, the pink tinge lighting his soft cheekbones and pale freckles. He shifted, a hand coming up and rubbing at his face, lips forming a small pout. He wasn't supposed to freaking blush! Jesus. Now he looked even more socially retarded. With another small smile, he let go of that too-thin, soft hand. Mello was acting very civilized, and Matt wondered what was up. But his attention was stolen from the quiet blond when K opened her mouth again. He blushed even greater, now ducking his head and hiding goggle covered eyes behind a curtain of red hair. She had heard things about him? Great things, no less. But, Matt knew she was really only talking about Mello. Number three didn't get mentioned. Number three just got a participant medal and a pat on the back saying "Nice try. Don't come back." She also knew his name. One-Up for Matty-boy! And those dimples...Matt smiled again just looking at them.

"I-I, uh, not really. Mello is the only one that tries here. He's going to beat Near one day, you know. Mello is going to be the L." Matt also wanted to add in, Not you, but he thought that might be vaguely insulting so he kept his mouth shut. Hopefully, K hadn't noticed he had braces yet. Matt puffed out his tiny chest in victory, being chosen to have a conversation with, instead of Mello. But when the small blond boy moved backwards to the bed, Matt frowned and hesitated.

It would be smart and instinctual to move back with Mello and sit on the bed. It would earn him brownie points and the chance to be polite to a pretty girl if he stayed. Then again, alone without Mell around meant a chance for him to stutter and screw-up. The red-head blinked, stepping aside and gesturing for K to enter the room. With that, he quietly turned on a scuffed heel and sat besides Mello. His blush was finally fading, and he hoped Mello hadn't noticed.

"H-How old are you, K?" He asked quietly, mentally slapping himself for stuttering and hiding more of his thin body behind Mello.

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeFri Apr 03, 2009 8:35 am

"Yes," K said gently gently to Mello. Her voice was low toned, and she had little to know expression in the way that she spoke, her feelings and emotions were expressed through her eyes and body language mostly. She had learned not to be so uppity with her voice, people easily mistook her for being weak. 'Never let anyone mistake your kindness for weakness' it was some of the best advice that L could have given her, and she took to to heart. She didn't want to necessarily be rude to the blonde boy, however, she felt as if she had no choice.

K held in a laugh as she saw Matt's cheeks begin to paint themselves with a small hint of blush. Nerves, prehaps? Just an over all shyness. Regardless, she found it ironic in some sense. She was the last person that would ever be able to make a persons cheeks rose like that, it just wasnt what she was good at.

She let out a soft noise, a gentle and sweet chimed 'heheh' or a giggle as Matt hid behind his goggles and a curtainb of red hair. She tugged on a strand of her own hair, suddenly missing her old hair coloure.

She nodded, "L speaks about both of you," she reassured the shy red head, also holding eye contact with Mello for a split second. He seemed to be cautious of her, examining her every mood. Obviously, he was not fond of her, at least thats the impression in which he gave off. "And Near as well...He looks forward to meeting you all one day." That was true, L had told K, when they had become close, about his successors. Thats when her hate for the boys manifested.

K's eye brows narrowed in a confused sort of glare as Matt mentioned that Mello would be the new L. It seemed her initial thoughts were verified. They just sat around and waited for him to die. "Its a close tie between all three of you," she explained, "but I would rather not speak of L's passing, if thats okay with you," she offered, her expression softening again, "I don't want that to happen for a very long time."

She had never wanted to succeed L, although once he had mentioned it to her. She would one day be her own person, another great detective, following L in his tactics and thought process.

After a moment's hesitation, and seeing an apathetic 'you can come in' in Mello's eyes, and the physical gesture from Matt, she took a few steps into the warm. It seemed to be warmer, and have a bleakly cheery disposition. She was aware of the nonsense of the juxtaposition, but it was the only way she could describe the feel of the room to herself.

"Oh..."
she smiled again,
something she was doing an awful lot for some odd reason.
"Im seventeen."

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeFri Apr 03, 2009 8:37 am

Dark bags sat under gray eyes. This was a clear indicator that the person who said eyes belonged to was an insomniac. He did sleep, of course. Otherwise he would be dead, wouldn't he? It was just... Rare. And normally not on purpose. In face, he didn't even move from his normal sitting position when he fell asleep. Legs drawn up to his chest in front of him, hands resting on his knees unless they were being used for other tasks. Most important on that list was eating sweets. If you thought about it, all the sugar L ate was probably why he hardly ever slept. Back to his sitting, though. It had taken several years- that, or his memory was exaggerating- for this to become a comfortable position. It wasn't normal, after all. But his back had adjusted to it. It was no longer straight, but why would it need to be? The way he sat raised his deductive skills by at least forty percent. This he was convinced of. His long, black hair was messy, bangs sweeping over his forehead and almost covering his eyes. Adding to his sloppy appearance, his clothes were too big. A large, baggy, white shirt which hid the top of his just as large and baggy blue pants made up his outfit. His feet were bare. Even at first glance it became apparent that the detective didn't take care of himself. So what, though? He was comfortable, and healthy... somewhat.

His pale face was normally calm, thin lips forming a slight frown. He'd train his expression to be like that, and it rarely changed, although on occasion he would smile, and when something huge happened his shock or fear would be apparent. In case you couldn't figure it out already, he also didn't really care what people thought. He was a fucking genius, so people shouldn't give a damn whether he wore clothes that fit, slept, or brushed his hair. In his mind, he looked better if he didn't, anyway. Speaking of hair, he reached up a hand with long fingers, scratching at his head for a moment, the pale digits getting lost in the his black mane. In his other hand, the white stick of a lollipop was held, thumb and fingers working to twist it slowly. The sweet itself was several shades of red and pink, and was heart shaped. L hadn't been able to find anything else to eat. It was actually pretty good, though, he thought absently, bringing the sugar-filled heart up to his lips and licking it.

L was walking through the halls of Wammy's absently. He had come to check on his successors, and paused, tilting his head, when he saw K outside Mello and Matt's door. Walking closer, he looked inside the room. "Hello, you three." He said neutrally, a small smirk finding its way on his face. "Shouldn't you be in class?" The twenty five year old raised his lollipop to his lips once more, bringing it inside of his mouth and sucking on it. Maybe it was just him, but sugar was far more addictive than any drug. Eyes found Mello's chocolate, and narrowed slightly in jealousy. At least it wasn't pink. Or heart shaped, he added, sucking with more intensity on his lollipop... Wait, he was supposed to be annoyed that several of the students he had picked to succeed him were skipping class, right? Not raging with petty jealousy over a bitter, dark treat that belonged to one of his successors no less. The treat was pretty, though... He pulled the lollipop out of his mouth, and true to its name the sweet made a popping sound as it exited. Running his tongue over his lips, he forced his eyes away from the chocolate.

Mello glanced over at Matt for a split second, but didn't show any emotion. It weas obviouse the boy liked K so Mello had to tolerate and at least pretend, until he could acces her abilities, to be interested in what she had to say. Until she hinted that Near would beat him, he didn't care if anyone else beat him, Hell even she could beat him. But no way in fucking Hell was Near goinngt o best him.

Mello glared at her for a second. "Congrats." he siad comenting on her age flatly. He really wasn't in the mood for formalities. He really wasn't angry at her though, just her suggestion. He stared directly at her. "Look, none of us do. He was the one who pretty much saved all of us here." He dared her to say otherwise. He knew her background as well as he knew his own. Know thy enemy.

Mello started in suprise as the vioce of L, and his head, popped into the room. What the Hell? Oh shit, they were out of class. "Hello L." he stated simply. Nudging Matt descretly with his foot to look. He probably allready saw him, but Mello wanted to make sure. Noticing l's gaze, and knowing how it feels to be without chocolate, he carefully tosse one of the unopened bar at him. Knowing the detective would catch it. He hadn't seen him fight, but rumurs spread awfully fast. Folding his arms he stared directly at the master detective, not even blinking. "What is is?" He asked. Damn they were busted.

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeFri Apr 03, 2009 9:11 am

Matt's face fell momentarily before he trained it to a complete and under look of boredom. Damn,. She was much too old for him. Matt was only fourteen going on fifteen. It was borderline pedophilia. He screwed up his face for a moment, imagining what it would be like to be part of a real relationship. Where both parties loved each other equally before sighing softly. It was too depressing. Instead, he brought out a DS and focused his entire being on the game, goggles flashing with multi-colored lights and soft sounds. Matt stiffened for a moment, gaze hardening and narrowing instantly.

"L didn't bring us here, Mello. Watari found us, and Roger brought us here. L was too busy with his cases to care about anything. He hardly even comes to visit us here." Matt spat out, voice carefully controlled, leaking enough annoyance to make everyone notice he didn't care for L.

Speak of the damn devil himself. Matt seethed inwardly, curling his knees up to his chest, burrowing his face in his knees, fingers pressing furiously on the small game console. Whenever L was around, Mello forgot about everything. Mello forgot about Matt. Matt became nothing. Matt was, momentarily, abandoned again. He sorta almost loathed L for this, wanting to do nothing more than chuck his DS at L's head and make that damn heart lollipop embed within his cheek. He was nudged and Matt did nothing but shift, glaring at his screen as dark eyes became hardened emeralds. Damn L. And now look! Mello was giving him a bar of his chocolate.

Matt couldn't blame L, though. Mello actually cared becoming the new L. Matt didn't give a shit. Mello needed to be on L's good side. Matt said nothing as L spoke. L didn't deserve his breath.

Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Empty
PostSubject: Re: Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids   Born On A Different Cloud --- The Wammy Kids Icon_minitimeFri Apr 03, 2009 9:23 am

The sudden misinterest from only giving her age took K back for a moment, but understood, she supposed. To an extent anyways. It teased her interest however.

"Well..." K spoke candidly to Mello, "he did ask, and I dont believe that my answer was directed towards you." Even though her comment was harsh, it was never once condescending. She could manipulate her voice to do what sh wanted with it, a cool disposition is the only thing that she really owned.
The way that Matt spoke of L made her cock her head to the side, no anger welled inside of her, which surpsied her, merely concern.

How could he think this way about someone so brilliant? She simply didnt understand. It couldnt have possibly been jealousy...could it? Then it clicked.

Matt despised L. She could sense that much. And prehaps it was because Mello was so intent on becoming the 'new' L when the 'old' one passed, prehaps Matt felt as if his blonde friend had no time for him, when L was spoken about or came to see the boys. That would be must probable.

She craned her neck to look behind her at the door way, and there he stood. Funny...they were just talking about him and now he was here, in the flesh. Just as she remembered him. SHe turned her attention quickly. She was still angry with him from placing her here. She hated him at the moment as a matter of fact. He wasn't scolding her, she wasn't there to take classes or learn, she was there because she obviously needed a babysitter.

She glanced at Matt again, who showed no respect for the detective. Funny. Her assumption seemed to be correct.
